Camping with Your Baby – Things you need to consider
Nov 2, 2011
It would be really a fun and memorable family activity if you do something together. Camping is one recreational activity that strengthens the bonding of each family member. You can even bring your babies with you and preparation is really easy so it is never really an issue whether you can bring them or not. Here are some of the things that you need to consider when camping with your baby.
Baby camping equipment checklist
There really is no special equipment that you need to bring for your baby when camping. You just have to pack the usual baby stuff just like when you are going out for a vacation.
The basic checklist should include baby clothing, bottles and milk formula, wipes, food, snacks, and some of your baby’s favorite toys to keep them company.
Other baby equipment that can come in handy are the stroller and baby swing. It is more advisable to bring the two baby equipment mentioned than the baby carrier. Remember that there would be a lot of walking to do which is why the stroller and the swing is a better option.
Do not forget the hat, hood, and blanket in your baby camping equipment checklist. Protect your baby’s skin from the heat and radiation of the sun during the day so you will need hat or hood for the head. The blanket will keep them warm during the cold weather at night.
Pack disposable diapers and trash bags. Disposable diapers are better than dealing with washing and drying diaper cloths. Trash bags are for the used diapers so that you will not litter around and attract bugs and have that lingering bad smell.
Now how do you arrange a sleeping pen for your baby when you are on the camping site? You can position duffle bags around your baby. Make sure that your baby sleeps in your middle so that they will be protected when they roll around.
