Camping is a great activity but it is one that needs ample preparation. You can’t just pack your bags and decide to go camping on a whim. You need to be prepared for it. Listed below are ten of the most important things you need to take with you when you decide to take on the outdoors.

1.	Water. Water is a basic human need. We need it for everything and we need it especially to live. When going camping, you need to have sufficient drinking water to sustain you for the whole duration of the activity. If in case you will be getting water from a source during camping, it is absolutely necessary that it be sterilized first.

2.	Food. Food is the second item on this list. Camping involves a lot of physical activity and you need the food to give you sustenance.

3.	Tent. Besides food and water, the next thing you need is shelter. Tents come in various shapes and sizes. Choose one that would suit your needs

4.	Sleeping Bag. After shelter, you need something that would ease and help you rejuvenate for next day’s activities. Sleeping bags also come in various shapes and sizes. Find one with good insulation that would fit the conditions of your camping ground.

5.	First Aid Kit. There are a lot of things that might happen during camping that might cause injury. Your first aid kit ensures that any further damage to you is slowed or stopped in its tracks.

6.	Knife. The best knives to take during camping are utility knives but a good pocket knife would suffice as well.

7.	Flashlight. Flashlights are especially handy when you just need a quick light for that evening trip to the bathroom. Plus, they’re great at finding things in the dark too.

8.	Lantern. Lanterns are inexpensive items that would give you ample light in your campsite. Make sure you pack one and bring some fuel.

9.	Rain Gear. Rain gear comes in handy in case the weather decides to give you a drenching experience of the outdoors life.

10.	Camp Stove. Unless you’re an excellent cook using wood, you would need a camp stove. They’re inexpensive and use the same fuel as your lantern.

One of the most popular and most convenient camping explorations is camping in trailers. Camping trailers have many advantages over other types of camping like tent camping. What are the many benefits of camping in a trailer? Find out from the list below.

1.	Allows camper to be more organized. Trailers provide more space to store your camping gears, equipment, and food. A trailer can be considered like your home while away from home as it gives you comfort and safety in the midst of nowhere.

2.	Amenities and convenience of a home. It may be so much fun to lie under the stars but when the chilling wind breezes through sleep will not come to you. With your camping trailer, you can sleep in a comfortable and cozy bed and still enjoy star gazing. Trailers also offer amenities found in homes like a rest room where you can wash up or a small kitchen or dining area where you can prepare your meals and still can set-up for a bonfire for some bonding time. It also provides you some heat when you wake up in the morning cold. During summer, you can turn on the air condition of your camping trailer to give off that cool and relaxing air that your body needs.

3.	Water and electricity. You do not need to look for a river or a waterfall just to find some extra water. You do not need stones to light a fire to heat your food and give warmth to your body. Your camping trailer is equipped with electricity and water that can power refrigerator, stoves, television, and other electrical device that you have on your trailer.

There are a lot of things that your camping trailer can provide for you. The convenience, comfort, and safety together with the fun and interesting things that you can do in your camping make it all worth the ride.

It would be really a fun and memorable family activity if you do something together. Camping is one recreational activity that strengthens the bonding of each family member. You can even bring your babies with you and preparation is really easy so it is never really an issue whether you can bring them or not. Here are some of the things that you need to consider when camping with your baby.

Baby camping equipment checklist

There really is no special equipment that you need to bring for your baby when camping. You just have to pack the usual baby stuff just like when you are going out for a vacation.
The basic checklist should include baby clothing, bottles and milk formula, wipes, food, snacks, and some of your baby’s favorite toys to keep them company.

Other baby equipment that can come in handy are the stroller and baby swing. It is more advisable to bring the two baby equipment mentioned than the baby carrier. Remember that there would be a lot of walking to do which is why the stroller and the swing is a better option.

Do not forget the hat, hood, and blanket in your baby camping equipment checklist. Protect your baby’s skin from the heat and radiation of the sun during the day so you will need hat or hood for the head. The blanket will keep them warm during the cold weather at night.

Pack disposable diapers and trash bags. Disposable diapers are better than dealing with washing and drying diaper cloths. Trash bags are for the used diapers so that you will not litter around and attract bugs and have that lingering bad smell.

Now how do you arrange a sleeping pen for your baby when you are on the camping site? You can position duffle bags around your baby. Make sure that your baby sleeps in your middle so that they will be protected when they roll around.

Camping is a popular outdoor recreation in the United States. If you are having our first camping adventure, backpacking is the best way to bring the things that you need. Here is a basic guide for those who are just starting in their camping adventure.

How to load a backpack

To load a backpack properly, make sure that you pack your bag that will remain comfortable when you hike to the camping site. The general rule is that the weight of your backpack should be under 20 pounds otherwise it wouldn’t be that comfortable to carry it. Note that there are two available backpacks – internal frame and external frame.

1.	External frame backpack. Put your sleeping bag under the pack. The lightest gear or equipment should be at the bottom. The mid-weight gears (pots and clothing) should be in the middle. The heavy ones (tent, stoves, water bottle) should be at the top, against the frame, or near the shoulders.

2.	Internal frame backpack. With this type of backpack, you load items differently from the external frame where the lightest gears are packed towards the top and the heavy gears are in the bottom of the pack.

Things you need to do before backpacking and camping

Before you head on to your camping adventure, make sure that you have all the things you need to bring with you. This is because you will be out there in the middle of nowhere and there are no stores or malls that you can go to buy your things just in case you have forgotten it. It is suggested that you make a checklist so that you won’t forget the necessary gears and things that you need when camping.

Check out and make a research at different sites in the net of the following:

1.	Things you need to bring and load in your backpack
2.	Places to camp – where is the best place or spot to camp
3.	Activities that you can do when in the camping site

Always ensure safety and comfort to make your camping adventure worthwhile and fun.

Backpacking is a word commonly associated with low cost travel. Independent travel and budget travel have also been linked to backpacking. Backpacking is commonly differentiated from other types of tourism by its proponents’ use of taking public transportation as its main means to get from one place to another, the inclination of booking youth hostels as opposed to staying in hotels. Some even go as far as couch surfing, a term used where travelers sleep in couches of friends or newly met acquaintances. Backpacking is also associated with a longer stay in a certain place compared to more conventional vacations.

As the term also suggests, backpacking mainly uses a backpack. This means that the travelers only take some clothes and a few essentials when visiting a new place. There is also an equal or a higher interest in meeting local people than seeing the tourist spots or sights of the place they are visiting.

In recent years, however, the term backpacking or backpacker has changed. It has become a lifestyle and a business. The availability of low cost air travel, cheap accommodations and hostels around the world has resulted in the boom of the backpacking industry. Recent technological advancements have an impact on backpackers, as they tend to carry more electronic equipment than before. The boom in social networking sites have also made backpackers more technologically savvy and made it easier to stay connected with the people they left at home as well as the new ones they have met.

However, despite these changes, the basic definition of a backpacker and its self-identification that separates it from vacationing people and tourists remain the same. Backpacking remains as an educational experience more than a vacation. It is a means of knowing and exploring the world and all its culture in its purest form.

When going camping with your kids, you might just get excited with the whole setting up camp experience that possible mishaps might happen. There are a lot of things that might cause injury in the process of moving gears, equipment set-up, hiking, and all other camping activities. The best thing that one needs to prepare is a first aid kit that could cover and give temporary remedy for all those possible mishaps.

A first aid kit needs to be well stocked. Among the contents that a first aid kit should contain are:

Various sizes of gauze and bandages

Pain medication

Anti-diarrhea medication

Relief spray for sunburn

Scissors, knife, and tweezers

Rinse solutions and sterile wipes

Antiseptic and antibacterial creams and ointments

There are a lot of possible mishaps and accidents that one should expect during camping. Camping is an outdoors activity meaning there will be a lot of hiking and walking and it would be inevitable to encounter brushes and thorns and even cacti. Be prepared in dealing with cuts, scratches, and scrapes. Also, camping involves a lot of outdoor cooking and campfires. Be prepared for injury during food preparation such as cuts as well as injuries resulting from accidents with fire. Camping also involves being exposed to the elements. Make sure that you are prepared for these things not only with your equipment and covering but with the necessary first aid kit as well.

For instant remedy for breaks in the skin from cuts and scrapes and even insect bites, use your rinse solutions and sterile wipes to clean the wound, apply antibacterial or antiseptic cream and ointments to prevent the growth of bacteria, and cover with bandages to ensure that the wounds stay clean during the duration of the camping trip. When cooking outdoors, you might get smoke, ashes, or even cinders in your eyes. A saline solution would come in handy for washing out the debris in your eyes. Tweezers are especially useful should thorns need to be removed. Since you might be walking a lot under the sun, sunburn relief sprays would definitely be useful too.
